The Beauty of Disconnecting: Sailing with Miguel
One of the most unforgettable experiences was our boat trip with Miguel from Sailing of Puerto Cristo. After reading rave reviews, I knew we were in for something special, but Miguel exceeded all expectations.
His warm and engaging nature made him feel like part of our family. He taught my son, Sebastian, about sailing, and took us to hidden coves and secret beaches. We explored these gorgeous coves by paddle boarding and jumping off the boat.
Being disconnected from my phone, surrounded by the island’s raw beauty, was a much-needed reset for my busy mind.
Morning Walks
Morning walks are a cherished part of my routine, and Mallorca’s east coast offered the perfect backdrop. The coves of Cala Mandia and Cala Romantica, with their untouched beauty and crystal-clear waters, were particularly inspiring.
South Coast Charm: Exploring Villages and Seaside Delights
Our second week was spent on the island’s south coast, an area we love for its charming villages and stunning seaside views. Lunch at Cassai Beach House was a highlight; the restaurant’s idyllic setting, with tables overlooking the sea, allowed us to enjoy delicious food and refreshing drinks before jumping into the water. It’s these simple, joyful moments that fuel my creativity and remind me of the importance of balance.
Travel Essentials and Holiday Reads
Traveling light and staying comfortable is key for me. I packed my favourite pieces from Postcards from Rome, including chunky earrings that add a touch of glamour without the need for makeup. My Rae Feather kaftan, is a travel staple – it’s stylish, doesn’t crease, and feels wonderful on the skin. For footwear, my Aquazzura gold metallic flats are perfect for any occasion.
Books are my go-to for relaxation, and this trip was no exception. "Don’t Believe Everything You Think" helped me switch off, while "The Garnett Girls" was a delightful, easy read. I also revisited "The Artist’s Way," a book that encourages daily journaling, a practice I find incredibly grounding.
Gratitude and Reflection
Taking this time for myself was essential. Before the trip, I felt overwhelmed and exhausted, but Mallorca’s magic helped me reset. I’m deeply grateful to my team for managing everything so seamlessly in my absence. This time away allowed me to return with a clearer mind and a renewed sense of peace and contentment.
